We need Human Families...

Each one of us, whatever our age, needs a truly human family, within which we can feel safe and free to be ourselves... a family in which we can express ourselves, what we think, hope and feel, what brings us sorrow and joy. In a world in which we speak of peace because peace is threatened because our greater human family has not learned how to live together it is now time to support one another and find strength within our own families and also create the bonds of friendship and understanding between all our human families. World peace through fostered by understanding and friendship among human families - that is what this website is about! It is your website! If you also believe that peace is invaluable, this site will be here for you and thanks to you. Write, as you might write to a friend, about the experiences and hopes of your own family. Share your joys and your concerns. We have created this interactive site with the goal of encouraging dialogue among families through our open letters to one another.

We hope that our dialogue will bridge the differences in our origins, our customs and the languages we speak. After all we share the same feelings and experience the same human needs. We trust that as we learn about one another friendship and solidarity will emerge and we will find ways of helping one another and supporting one another in our human families. This website is a continuation of the vision of the Polish language publication "Powiernik Rodzin" (Family Confidant) written by families about and addressed to families. The Internet provides us with the opportunity to reach out to the families of our world, a world that more and more is like a small village where news can spread instantly to the furthest corners. Unfortunately in our world this news is often news conveyed by politicians and the media and that news is often impersonal and threatening. This could lead us to be believe that the only the words of the powerful matter.

We believe that each of our voices is important and that it is important to communicate the good that is found in the experiences and hopes of our own families. Your letters addressed to the other families of our world village will help us share the goodness and beauty to be found in each nation, culture, and religion. Dear readers, we invited you to write and bring this site to life. Write in your own language. To the best of our shared abilities, we will look to one another for help - to have your letter translated into other languages. We wait for your letters and your feedback.
